The City of Carbondale
Carbondale is located in the heart of Southern Illinois and is the trade, tourism and educational center for the region. Bordered by a national forest, a national wildlife refuge, and a state park, it is also the home of Southern Illinois University. The community serves as the host and focal point for many of the region's business and recreation activities.
Southern Illinois University Carbondale
SIUC maintains more than 100 finely tuned academic programs that lead to associate, baccalaureate, master's, specialist's, doctoral and professional degrees. As of Fall 1999, 22,323 students were enrolled in programs ranging from marketing and engineering to law and medicine. Southern Illinois University at Carbondale has earned international acclaim as the second largest comprehensive university in Illinois.
Carbondale Chamber of Commerce
The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit business dedicated to the improvement of Carbondale and Jackson County. It is run by business people and is the best business bargain in Carbondale and Jackson County. The more members the Chamber has, the stronger it is. Membership identifies you as a business that believes in your community by helping you to be active in promoting its welfare and growth.

Southern Illinois Research Park
The Southern Illinois Research Park (SIRP) is a non-profit corporation affiliated with Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) promoting technology and knowledge-based enterprise development within the Park and the southern Illinois region. As a knowledge-based high-tech and research-oriented business park, SIRP is a member of the Association of University Research Parks (AURP).
